Texas resident, woman age 18–44 (15–17 with a parent applying), not pregnant, not on Medicaid, CHIP, or Medicare, and no other insurance covering these services.

Photo ID, Social Security number, proof of Texas address, and proof of income for the last 30 days (pay stubs, a letter from your employer, or a self-employment record).

Healthy Texas Women (HTW) is a free Texas state program that covers women's health and family planning services for women ages 18 through 44 who are not enrolled in Medicaid, CHIP, or other health insurance. It is run by Texas Health and Human Services, not by a private insurance company.
Is Healthy Texas Women the same as Medicaid?+
No. Healthy Texas Women is a separate, limited-benefit state program. It covers women's health, family planning, and some related screenings — not full medical care, hospital stays, or labor and delivery. If you are pregnant, you should apply for Pregnancy Medicaid or CHIP Perinatal instead.
What does Healthy Texas Women cover?+
HTW covers annual well-woman exams, birth control (including long-acting methods), pregnancy testing, breast and cervical cancer screening, screening and treatment for high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, and postpartum depression, plus some treatment for sexually transmitted infections. It does not cover abortion, hospital care, or general medical care.
Does Healthy Texas Women cover dental?+
No. Healthy Texas Women does not cover routine dental care or vision. For low-cost dental care, look for a federally qualified health center or a community dental clinic that uses a sliding-fee scale.
Does Healthy Texas Women cover doctor visits?+
It covers women's health and family planning visits with a participating HTW provider, including your yearly well-woman exam and covered screenings. It does not cover general sick visits, urgent care, or specialists outside of the covered service list.
